The morning of Charlotte and Ellis's Cardiff wedding began with a little bit of running around – in the best way! I started by capturing Ellis and his groomsmen as they got ready, enjoying the camaraderie and posing for some pre-ceremony shots. Luckily, Charlotte wasn't too far away, so I was soon able to join her and her bridal party for their preparations. It's always fun to capture both sides of the story unfolding!
The ceremony took place at the impressive St Isan's Church in Cardiff. What a stunning building! It was beautifully decorated with flowers and filled to the brim with family and friends, all there to witness Charlotte and Ellis exchange their vows. There was a little moment of unexpected humour during the ceremony. As the vicar said, "If anyone here knows of any reason why these two should not be joined in holy matrimony...", a well-timed sneeze echoed through the church. Charlotte and Ellis's playful, slightly mock-annoyed glance back at the guests caused a ripple of laughter – a lovely, unscripted moment!
Following the ceremony, we moved outside for the confetti shot. With so many guests eager to celebrate Charlotte and Ellis, we ended up spilling onto the road.
Even the passing motorists stopped their cars and started clapping and cheering! It was such a spontaneous and joyful show of support.
The reception was held at the stylish St David's Hotel in Cardiff Bay. Charlotte had clearly put her heart into decorating the room, and it looked fantastic.
I particularly loved the creative table numbers – each one featured a different age, like 'When we were 10' or 'When we were 3', accompanied by sweet, often funny,
childhood photos of Charlotte and Ellis. It was such a personal and thoughtful touch that really made the room feel special.
The speeches were a wonderful mix of humour and touching moments. There were plenty of laughs, but also some really heartfelt words that clearly meant a lot to everyone present.
Afterwards, Charlotte and Ellis and I nipped out for a quick photoshoot on a nearby bridge. The scenery was surprisingly simple, yet it provided the most beautiful backdrop for
some portraits. Sometimes, the most understated locations can create the most striking images.
The evening then flowed into Charlotte and Ellis's first dance and, as is often the case, a fantastic party where everyone let loose and celebrated. It was a truly wonderful day, full of beautiful
moments and genuine connections, all set against the vibrant backdrop of Cardiff. Congratulations, Charlotte and Ellis!
